A study in the Journal of Food Science and Technology revealed that THC effectively inhibits melanogenesis, even at low concentrations. It suppresses the process stimulated by a-MSH-induced intracellular cAMP up- regulation, suggesting its potential as a safe and efficient alternative for skin whitening in cosmetic research.In fact, THC demonstrated a significant decrease in a-MSH melanin synthesis, reaching a maximum reduction of 78.5% at a concentration as low as 0.1 lg/ml.

Research suggests that curcumin may have benefits for conditions such as arthritis, digestive disorders, cardiovascular disease, and neurological disorders. Tetrahydrocurcumins, being derivatives of curcumin, are also of interest in scientific investigations.
